<title>Your Music Must Be Seen to Be Appreciated</title>
<link>http://www.musictv.com/web2/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=98</link>
<description>It had been a glorious sunset on the mountains. One of those days when majesty and glory seem to be in the fresh scarlet lit air. It was a day for discovery and I wanted to find some new music, a new band to listen to and share with my friends. I went to that awe-inspiring compendium of video on the web YouTube to try and find some new Independent Music groups. To my amazement I found nothing but the big major label brand names that are everywhere anyway. I wanted to find new music! What's a body to do?

<title>Bo Diddley &quot;I'm A Man&quot; Suffers Heart Attack</title>
<link>http://www.musictv.com/web2/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=96</link>
<description>Bo Diddley, born Ellas Bates has undergone surgery after a heart attack during a physical examination. The 78-year-old musician known for the famous “Bo Diddley” beat memorialized by U2 on “Desire”, George Michael on “Faith”, Buddy Holly on “Not Fade Away,” and most famously by the Who on “Magic Bus” was recovering from a stroke he suffered in May that left him with impaired speech and distorted speech recognition.

Bo Diddley was one of the great early innovators of Rock’n Roll and topped the charts in 1955 with the tune “Bo Diddley” which was followed by the monster hits “Who do you love” and “I’m A Man” covered by almost every rock band.

LOWELL, MA -- During the days when Boston reggae fans knew her by her radio personality alter ego &quot;Iriela,&quot; deejay Valerie Parker said she grew so inspired by the &quot;unifying, uplifting&quot; spirit of the music that she traveled to Jamaica to begin documenting its evolution in her film &quot;Reggae Revolution&quot; in 1998.

<description>Chubby is back and bad with a Lime twist at LimeLightTV.com. With his latest foray back in the music business Chubby has released a new top 40 charting hit “Knock Down the Walls” on TEEC Records. His cheery up-tempo tracks hide rather somber lyrics, which belie the aging rockers life outlook.

<title>Ozzfest Look'n Bad But Ain't What It Used to Be</title>
<link>http://www.musictv.com/web2/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=93</link>
<description>MANSFIELD -- Gods and monsters. Ozzfest 2007 had plenty of monstrous-looking (and often sounding) bands. And it had its deity, Ozzy Osbourne, who isn't usually ranked alongside those rock gods of smoldering looks and stunning voice.

However, when the 58-year-old stepped onstage at the sold-out Tweeter Center on Monday, following a hilarious video montage spoofing such programs as &quot; The Sopranos&quot; and &quot;Entourage,&quot; the raccoon-eyed star received a touchingly warm standing ovation.

<title>Download Fest The Next Big Thing</title>
<link>http://www.musictv.com/web2/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=92</link>
<description>There is no unifying theme to the Download Festival. Unlike Ozzfest, which attracts metal fans, or Vans Warped, a punk-inspired behemoth, the Download Festival, now in its fifth year, aims to deliver &quot;the best in alternative and modern rock,&quot; a category that includes all the good bands that aren't out with Ozzfest or the Warped tour. As one observer remarked, Saturday's 10-hour fest was like an iPod shuffle -- thankfully, one that belonged to a music fan with excellent taste.

<title>Why Musicians Should Podcast</title>
<link>http://www.musictv.com/web2/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=91</link>
<description>By Sharon Housley
Independent artists have long struggled to gain recognition and attract an audience. Without the backing of a major label it can be very difficult for independent artists to obtain radio play time, that is, until now. Podcasting a revolutionary new medium, has opened new distribution channels for independent artists. Podcasting is the process of distributing audio files using the RSS format and has become very popular with the younger generations.

<link>http://www.musictv.com/web2/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=89</link>
<description>Prince, the Artist Formerly Known as Prince, or Prince Rogers Nelson has stepped up to the plate with a free offering to the subjects of the Queen of England.

While the record stores are screaming for lost sales Prince is proud and having London's Daily Mail hand out up to 2,000,000 copies inside their Sunday Daily Mail.

This is just another step in marketing for Prince and a hand to the people in the UK. Sony and HMK records have refused to carry the product in stores claiming that such promotional tactics are destroying the record store.

<title>Music Industry Choking on Digital Downloads</title>
<link>http://www.musictv.com/web2/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=83</link>
<description>
In a big push with Apple the music industry is moving to save the “album format”. The record industry is adamant to keep the rewards of the past high-ticket price on their package, or “album format” against the digital download. The ability of choice and to take only the songs you like is reaping vast carnage on their huge profits.
